Step 1: Disable Battery Optimization for the App

Android’s Adaptive Battery or Doze Mode will aggressively close background processes for apps it thinks you aren't actively looking at.

  1. Open your phone's Settings.

  2. Go to Apps (or Apps & Notifications / App Management).

  3. Find and tap on your Accelerator App.

  4. Tap Battery (or Battery Usage).

  5. Change the setting from Optimized or Smart Control to Unrestricted (or Allow background activity).

Verification: Open your app, start accelerating, lock your screen for 5–10 minutes, and unlock it. If the connection remains active in the status bar, this step was successful.

Step 2: Turn On "Always-on VPN" in Android Settings

Android allows you to pin a VPN/Accelerator connection at the system level so the operating system never drops it.

  1. Open your phone's Settings.

  2. Tap Network & Internet (or Connections / More Connection Settings).

  3. Tap VPN.

  4. Tap the Gear / Settings icon next to your Accelerator app.

  5. Toggle on Always-on VPN.

  6. (Optional) Toggle on Block connections without VPN if you want to ensure your regular internet traffic doesn't bypass the accelerator if it momentarily drops.

Verification: Look at your status bar at the top of your screen. You should see a persistent key or shield icon that stays visible even when switching between heavy games or apps.

Step 3: Lock the App in Your "Recent Apps" Menu

Many Android skins (Samsung One UI, Xiaomi MIUI/HyperOS, OPPO ColorOS, vivo OriginOS) will clear non-locked apps from memory when you swipe them away or tap "Clear All."

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of your screen (or tap the Recent Apps button) to open your multitasking view.

  2. Find the window for your Accelerator App.

  3. Tap and hold the app icon above its preview card, or tap the three dots (...) in the corner.

  4. Select Lock (you will see a small padlock icon appear on the card).

Verification: Swipe away all recent apps or tap "Clear All." Check if your accelerator stays open in the recent apps tray and retains its padlock icon.

Step 4: Allow Background Data Usage

If Android restricts background data for your accelerator, the connection will time out even if the app process is technically still alive.

  1. Open Settings > Apps > Accelerator App.

  2. Tap Mobile Data & Wi-Fi (or Data Usage).

  3. Turn ON Background data.

  4. Turn ON Unrestricted data usage (this prevents "Data Saver" mode from throttling your accelerator).

Verification: Turn on Data Saver mode in your quick settings panel, then launch a game through your accelerator. The network delay/ping should remain low and stable without connection drops.
